COOKIE & BROWSER STORAGE POLICY
This Cookie & Browser Storage Policy describes the cookies, web storage items (localStorage, sessionStorage), and client databases (IndexedDB) utilized by Voocaly to provide secure authentication, workspace state preservation, and performance monitoring.
Table of Contents
01. What Are Cookies & Browser Storage?
Cookies are small text fragments sent to your web browser. In modern web applications, modern web storage interfaces (localStorage and client-side IndexedDB databases) are used alongside HTTP cookies to persist user session state, audio player volume levels, and studio drafts without transmitting unnecessary data over the network with every HTTP request.
02. Categories of Storage We Use
A. Strictly Necessary Storage (Cannot Be Opted Out)
These items are essential for the security, session integrity, and core operation of the Service:
- Firebase Authentication Persistence: Firebase Authentication uses browser-managed client-side persistence, including IndexedDB (
firebaseLocalStorageDb) and supported fallback storage mechanisms depending on browser/SDK behavior, to maintain an authenticated session. voocaly_cookie_consent: Stores your cookie preference ('accepted'or'essential').
B. Functional & Preference Storage
These items enhance usability and personalize your workspace:
voocaly_theme,voocaly_volume,voocaly_locale: UI theme, playback volume, and language preferences.voocly_selected_voice_id,voocly_favorites,voocly_recent_voices: Studio workspace state and favorite voice presets.voocly_guest_history,voocly_guest_sandbox_usage: Unauthenticated guest session drafts and trial quota counters.IndexedDB (voocly_guest_audio_db): Client-side database caching unauthenticated guest audio blobs in the user's browser.IndexedDB (voocly_audio_cache_db): Client-side database caching voice preview samples for instantaneous playback.
C. Optional Analytics Storage (Consent-Gated)
Collects anonymous, aggregated telemetry regarding page views, playback latency, and feature usage via Firebase Analytics:
_ga,_ga_*: Identifiers assigned by Google Analytics for Firebase.
03. Consent Gating for Analytics
Voocaly strictly enforces consent gating for non-essential cookies and analytics:
No analytics cookies are written and no telemetry network requests are sent to Firebase until you explicitly click "Accept All" on our Cookie Consent Banner.
If you select "Essential Only", analytics tracking remains completely dormant and uninitialized throughout your browsing session.
04. Managing & Revoking Consent
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and cache, or by resetting the voocaly_cookie_consent key in your browser storage settings.
For more details on data collection and rights, see our Privacy Policy.
