VOICE SAFETY & VOICE CLONING POLICY

A person's voice is deeply tied to personal identity, autonomy, and privacy. Voocaly enforces an uncompromising standard: Zero Non-Consensual Voice Cloning. No voice may be cloned on Voocaly without explicit, verifiable authorization from the living speaker.

01. The Core Standard: Zero Non-Consensual Cloning

Voocaly provides custom voice cloning using state-of-the-art acoustic reference conditioning. Because vocal cloning can be misused for impersonation, deceptive media, or fraud, you agree that you will only clone a voice if you have valid legal authority to do so.

Uploading reference audio of another person without their express written authorization is a direct violation of these terms and may violate civil and criminal identity, publicity, and wiretap laws.

02. Speaker Authorization Requirements

Before uploading reference audio to the Voocaly Studio:

  1. First-Person Verification: If you are cloning your own voice, you confirm under penalty of account suspension or termination that you are the sole living speaker in the audio recording.
  2. Third-Party Written Authorization: If you are an agency, enterprise, game studio, or producer cloning the voice of an actor, client, or employee, you must retain an executed, legally binding written voice release explicitly granting you the right to synthesize their voice using artificial intelligence. Voocaly reserves the right to request proof of written authorization at any time.

03. Deceased Individuals & Public Figures Strictly Prohibited

Cloning the voice of deceased historical figures, politicians, celebrities, or public personalities is strictly prohibited on Voocaly, regardless of context, historical recreation, satire, or claimed authorization.

Where any conflict exists between other documents and this Voice Safety Policy concerning voice cloning, this Voice Safety Policy controls.

04. Public vs. Private Voice Clones

Voocaly differentiates between Private and Public custom voices:

  • Private Voice Clones (Creator & Scale tiers): Reference audio and resulting voice models are strictly private. Only your authenticated user account can view or synthesize with the voice.
  • Public Voice Clones (Starter & Free tiers): You retain ownership of your uploaded reference audio, but grant a license permitting the resulting synthetic voice profile to be discoverable in the community library for other creators to synthesize with. Your reference audio file remains strictly private and inaccessible to third parties.

05. Rightsholder Notice & Rapid Takedowns

If you believe your voice or the voice of an individual you legally represent was cloned or uploaded to Voocaly without authorization:

  1. Email support@voocaly.com with the subject "Abuse / Voice Takedown - [Your Name]";
  2. Provide identification (such as government ID or verified professional profile) and reference to the voice in question;
  3. We prioritize verified voice-cloning reports for expedited review, immediately restrict the model pending investigation, and permanently purge verified infringing reference audio.
